HKIFF Cine Fan is honoured to have Iranian master filmmaker Abbas Kiarostami in town on May 25 to meet local film buffs. We present two of his masterpieces, Taste of Cherry and The Wind Will Carry Us, while the director himself will show up after the screening of Taste of Cherry to answer questions from the audience, and appear again at a master class seminar after the screening of The Wind Will Carry Us to share his experience and insights!

Inaugurated in 2007, the Asian Film Awards (AFA) is an international pioneering programme, honouring filmmakers with outstanding achievements in the field of Asian cinema. By invitation to 3,000 distinguished guests and broadcasting to over 300 million households worldwide, the AFA honours the outstanding achievements of Asian cinema in 14 award categories.

The Hong Kong - Asia Film Financing Forum (HAF) is widely recognised as the most important film-financing platform in Asia. The HAF brings Asian filmmakers with upcoming projects to Hong Kong to explore co-production opportunities with top financiers, producers, bankers, distributors and buyers.
