Guest Accreditation FAQ

Pre-festival Registration

1. What is Guest Accreditation?

Guest Accreditation identifies you as a film industry professional and is personalized, non-transferable, and grants you the following:

Please note that Guest Accreditation does not grant access to the Festival parties nor receptions.
2. How do I get accredited for the Festival? What conditions must be met for accreditation?

Accreditation is issued directly by the Hong Kong International Film Festival Society (HKIFFS). You must submit the following documents on-line in order to complete the accreditation:

  1. Proof of identity as a film industry professional (e.g. Work Pass or Business Card) (For Film Festival Delegate and Others categories applicants only) ;
  2. Recent photo for production of the pass.

HKIFFS reserves the right to approve or deny accreditation.

3. Once I have filled out the accreditation application, do I receive confirmation that the application has been received?

Yes. Once your online accreditation form is submitted, you will receive an acknowledgement email from the HKIFFS. If no acknowledgement is received 30 minutes after the submission, please submit your form again. Please ensure that your email address is correct.

4. When is the application deadline for the 34th Hong Kong International Film Festival (HKIFF)? How do I know the result?

The deadline for Guest Accreditation is March 5,2010.  Applications containing complete information and all required copy of supporting documents will be processed around 2 weeks from the date of submission. You will be informed via email on or before March 12,2010 (depending on the date of application) whether your application is successful.

5. Am I guaranteed to get a Guest Pass once I have submitted the accreditation form?

The HKIFFS will review the application and reserves the right to approve or deny accreditation. For enquiries, please contact guest_accreditation@hkiff.org.hk

6. How can I also attend the Hong Kong International Film and TV Market (FILMART) and the 8th Hong Kong- Asia Film Finance Forum (HAF)?

Overseas applicant who fully meets the accreditation requirements for HKIFF will be accredited to HAF and FILMART as well.

7. Can I attend the 4th Asian Film Awards (AFA) with the HKIFF Guest Pass?

The HKIFF Pass is just for the 34th HKIFF only. Admission to the 4th Asian Film Awards is by invitation only.

8. Where can I collect my Guest Pass?

Upon approval of Guest Accreditation, an email notification with collection information will be sent to you.

9. Can someone else pick up my Guest Pass for me?

Yes. However, please ensure that the person responsible for picking up your pass on your behalf has a copy of the application confirmation email from the HKIFFS, a letter of authorization from you and proof of identity.

10. For how long is my Guest Pass valid?

The Guest Pass is valid for the entire duration of the 34th HKIFF (March 21 to April 6, 2010).

11. If I lose my Guest Pass, how can I get a replacement?

Please report loss at the HKIFF Media Centre located at the official hotel or the office of the HKIFFS immediately. Your pass can be reissued for a fee of HKD100 (in cash and a receipt will be issued), and the replacement will be issued within 24 hours.

HAF Guest Pre-registration

1. What is Guest Accreditation?

Guest Accreditation identifies you as a film industry professional and is personalized, non-transferable, and grants you the following:

2. How do I get accredited for the 8th HAF? What conditions must be met for accreditation?

Accreditation is issued directly by the Hong Kong International Film Festival Society (HKIFFS). You must fill in the application form, along with your recent photo and the accreditation fee:

  1. Early Bird Discount: HK$400 / US$50 on or before January 31, 2010;
  2. Registration after January 31, 2010 and Regular Admission: HK$2,000 / US$260

You will be informed by email within 5 working days whether your accreditation is successful.

HKIFFS reserves the right to approve or deny accreditation.

3. Once I have filled out the accreditation application, do I receive confirmation that the application has been received?

Yes. Once your online accreditation form is submitted, you will receive an acknowledgement receipt from the HKIFFS. If no acknowledgement is received 30 minutes after the submission, please submit your form again. Please ensure your email address is correct. [The acknowledgement receipt only indicates the status of data received, NOT the success of accreditation.]

4. Am I guaranteed to get a Guest Badge once I have submitted the accreditation form?

The HKIFFS will review the application and reserves the right to approve or deny accreditation. For enquiries, please contact hafregistration@hkiff.org.hk .

5. Can I also attend the 34th Hong Kong International Film Festival (HKIFF)?

The HAF Guest Accreditation is for HAF events (22 – 24.3.2010) and FILMART (22 – 25.3.2010) only. You have to apply for a Guest Pass for HKIFF separately. Please click here for registration.

6. Can I also attend the 4th Asian Film Awards (AFA)?

The HAF Guest Badge is only valid during the 8th HAF period (22 – 24.3.2010) and for the access to HAF area.
